The plus-que-parfait

The plus-que-parfait (pluperfect) is used primarily in narration, to report events that had been completed before another past event took place. It is formed with the imparfait of être or avoir and the past participle of the main verb. Let’s review the imparfait of these two auxiliary verbs.
